The Fall of Humpty Dumpty, Cristina Arra Simmons

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

all the King’s Horses

and all the King’s men

tried very hard but couldn’t

put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

So I know you all are aware by now of the Tyrant I worked for in Tallahassee, who has been stalking, harassing, and following me since like, 2006. I got a funny story to share with yall. And after reading it, I guarantee you might want to go to work Tuesday morning, yall know yall calling in Monday, for partying to hard on Superbowl Sunday, on Tuesday somebody’s boss gone get cussed out especially if yall figure out it was him, your boss, that’s been causing all this confusion in your life.

So as I stated in other blogs while working for this man I noticed him doing things, playing manipulation mind games just to test how a person would respond.  So one day we were all in a “business meeting”, the Tyrant was trying to manipulate these other hillbilly corrupt developers into letting me be their spokes person (bait) to draw the young black people who’s parents had a lil bit of money in. Hoping they’d invest in their cheaply constructed homes and the kids would through wild parties because they’d, the corrupt realtors, find away to make sure it happens. And we know what happens at wild parties involving young black unsupervised college students; fights, possibly shootouts, police are called and they get there in time to count the bodies and take some in to take the fall. CON-Spiracy!

Well during the meeting another male Realtor whispers to me if he, the Tyrant, says something just follow his lead. I had done already picked up on the scheme so I said “MHMMMM“. So my turn came, the Tyrant turns to me and says “explain to them your approach on helping them sale their homes“. I gave him that look like you sure… Here goes… I started speaking not only selling myself but selling their properties. The look of surprise and interest in their faces intimidated the Tyrant. The Tyrant started turning red and move his hand forcefully across his neck. Saying “Cut” and looked at me like “shut up“. It was too late the attention was directed my way and that made him mad. So I stopped talking and let him continue. I sat there with a look on my face like “dude you got the right one“. Meeting adjourned!

I got up and started to head to my car for lunch, every one stood around talking for a while ,”Hillbilly hobnobbing”. I was walking down the stairs I heard the group of men including the Tyrant approaching the stairs I started speed up because I wanted to get out of the office while the Tyrant was distracted. Then all of a sudden it sounded like thunder roared and the building shook and it ended with a bam! Real loud. I stopped dead in my tracks. I turned around and walked back to the room the lead up to the meeting room and I heard the men asking “you ok”, “is everything alright?” I walked in there and saw the Tyrant all red and looking like “he’d fallen and he can’t get up“! I felt like my head was going to blow up I wanted to laugh so bad. I turned around and tried to controlled my self from bursting out laugh as I walked to the exit to get to my car. All I was thinking that’s good his ass fell down them damn stairs, trying to pimp me! I got in my car! Yall remember “The Nutty Professor” when Eddie Murphy was at the comedy show laughing at Dave Chappelle’s character! That’s how I was in my car all by myself; cracking the hell up!

I went home had my daily mediation and ate lunch. I went back to the office and they were still talking about “Tyrant I think you should get checked out”. His ass was limping around that office looking like the dirty boy from Charlie Brown. I thought I was going to die from laughter that day!

The Michael Vick Project? or Conspiracy?- Arra Simmons

One of the my most memorable and proudest moments in history was the OJ Simpson verdict, Summer 1995 I was pregnant with Kris and watching the OJ trial cause Young and the Restless was interrupted. I remember hearing the verdict not guilty. I was in my bedroom my mom was out in the “Florida room” another term for den. I heard scream and yell out whaaaat!!! He got off. A black man got off. I was in my room crying she came back and we cried together. It was just like the day President Obama won the election. I hate to make such a comparison but when a black man gets out going to jail for life… It’s a happy day for African Americans all over the United States, believe it.

Last night I watched the Michael Vick Project and I just couldn’t believe my ears as I listened to Michael and his family describe their lives leading up to the “raid” on his mansion. My son was watching with me. I asked him during the commercials. Can you see what happened. All he could say is they just don’t want to succeed. Then I asked him to provide details. He said this “they knew Michael Vick liked football and he also helped other black people. They don’t want us helping one another when we make it and they don’t us doing anything they do without them knowing about it… that’s on any level“.

That’s the jist of it basically. However this is what I explained to him based on what Michael and his family said about their lives prior to making it. And this is why I was so pissed off. Time line “I grew up in the projects, all I saw everyday was dog fighting, that’s all I knew” Michael Vick. Football and dog-fighting, those were his passions because that’s what he saw around him. Why didn’t the police go to the projects and inform those people hosting dog-fighting events during those times that what they were doing was illegal. I will tell you why because it was the projects filled with Afrikans who didn’t know any better had nothing else better to do so they chose dog fighting as away to entertain themselves and make money. Know different from what the men in the villages of Africa did, they may not have been fighting dogs in Africa but they sure as hell was trying to depend on white folk as the source of getting by.

Lets fast forward, so Michael Vick gets the NFL slavery contract and “Life was Good it was like a dream, there wasn’t anything we couldn’t do or buy”… That’s was his false sense of freedom and control of his own life. “I remember it was like shop til you drop, Nieman Marcus stayed open late for us” Vick’s wife…. Imma pause right there. Who you think profited from that? Imma tell you who didn’t, it, for sure as hell, wasn’t the store clerk working off her commission, either going to school or a college graduate struggling to feed her family, who probably needed to be home with a child a not working over a shift that she isn’t gonna get over time for, why, because she is only schedule to work 30 hours a week. “And a white man get paid off of all of that..” Kanye West.

But Vick, they said wasn’t a person who said no. Meaning he went back to his neighborhoods and was helping people in need. “Oh no he didn’t…” Whitey. See once we make it we ain’t suppose to go give back to those we leave behind in the projects whitey gave Vick a meal ticket he was suppose to forget where his came from. But check this white man, Vick told you,  “That’s all I knew“.  We are a people, who, by nature we go back and share, we want people to know that there is something better out there and just like I got you can get it to. It’s called motivation, sharing and teaching… We ain’t spose to know nothing about that in the hood. Not only was life good, money, cars, clothes they were just making all types of dreams come true. Vick wanted to “get big in the dog fighting game”. Hey I’m not certain whether Vick knew if that part was illegal but I am certain that somebody that knew about it knew and all they had to do was say “look Mike, this dog fighting  is something that can ruin you, so if it’s really want you want to do let’s take out of your hands“. That’s exactly what the man does to cover their names and images use a person who won’t get as much attention from the media or time in jail, if caught, and it never links back to person running the show.

However this is what happened to Vick, knowing that his dog fighting events were becoming popular and black people were profiting from them, they had to find a way to infiltrate “legally“. Trust, the powers that be were watching everybody to see who they could “catch slipping” and that person had to be someone who wasn’t aware of his constitutional rights, because they’ll give up information easily. Once threaten with you know you can go to jail for a long time, however we can make a deal, tell us what we want to know and you’ll get a slap on the rest this time (meaning you’ll get the original sentence for the minor crime committed).

So Vick’s cousin was stopped by the Nazi’s oops police he had 3 ounces, yup I think he said OUNCES of marijuana, in his possession. Not cocaine, XTC, nothing that would get him any real time, marijuana yall . However the police persuaded him to give him all of the information on his cousin MICHAEL VICK, the real target. Homeboy, told the address to the house, where they could find what they need to link him to the dog fights, the address to the kennell dude gave up all the information for three ounces of marijuana.  Michael Vick’s house was raided. Imma just stop right there.

Cause their next move really pissed me off. Once Michael Vick’s house was raided and he was to embarrassed to answer his phone, couldn’t talk to his mother, his brother or his coach. Then his “life stopped”. Where were his supporters, his fans, you know, those people who had their hands out when his life changed? Where were all of those people during his trial and hard times?  Imma tell who was there, the damn “Organizations” such as PETA, waiting to speak out against him and make him look like scum. Why because they knew we, as a people (African American), were to damn distracted to try to come together and support, our brother.. Man of GOD. Souds like what the did to Jesus too. I’m just saying, Judas wasn’t Jesus cousin but I bet for damn sure if he was living in today’s society he would have been the one giving up the goods because he got caught with a bag of weed.

This question was asked in my Criminal Justice class in reagrds to Miranda rights… You the stuff the police say suspects when they’re making an arrest.

Why is the Miranda ruling important for police to understand? Explain your answer.

Here are some of the responses from my class mates:

Response 1:(female) The importance of Miranda rights and having them read to an individual under arrested is to protect them from self-incrimination ( the fifth amendment protects against this) and protects the police from allegations of coercion.

Response 2: (female) The Miranda ruling is important for police to understand because it is based on the Fifth Amendment, which states that “no one shall be compelled to be a witness against him-or herself in a criminal case.” If the police want their evidence and statements to “hold up” in court the person has to be read their rights when going into custody and or interrogation. Self incriminating when not read those rights, or even understanding those rights would create a major problem, not only for those officers, but also for the prosecutors taking the offender to trial. The last thing both parties would want is a mistrial. This way, the police officers are covering all of their bases so to speak.

Response 3:(Male) The Miranda ruling is important for the police to understand because it establishes that a defendant in a criminal case has to be made aware of their rights or any evidence or statements obtained may be suppressible by the court. The theory behind this is that it is not only important that a person have rights, but also that they are aware of them and can make a full and knowing waiver if they choose to talk to the police. Which I think it is a great law.  My response to response 3: I agree it’s a great law for those who understand it, many people are arrested and read the Miranda Rights and continue to allow the police to interrogate them. They speak to police and give up information that can be held against them in a court of law that if an attorney is present might not be as “substantial” in a court of law. It is a good law for those who understand that they can refuse to speak to the police until there is a some sort of representation present. For those who are ignorant to the true meaning of Miranda rights in many cases become entrapped because of their “fear’ of the police.

Response 4: The Miranda ruling is important for police to understand because it’s the officer’s protection. Once an arrest is made Miranda Rights should be quoted in a way that the suspect should understand as well. Miranda rights also protects the victim from police interrogation. Many suspects become their own victims because they were entrapped into saying “I understand” once the officer has read them their rights. Do they really understand that anything they say from that point on can be held against them, do they really understand they have the right to shut up until an attorney is present? Police must understand the Miranda ruling because he is responsible for ensuring the suspect understands once they have been read. Also the officer should be held accountable if those rights are misinterpreted by the suspect. That suspect may have pressured into saying “I understand“. Cristina Arra Simmons

Old Blue Eyes, Cristina Arra Simmons

I tried to ignore the signs calling for this blog because thinking about this makes me so emotional. However I am so thankful that I am chosen to share. The happiest day of my life was the day I laid eyes on my son. Everybody was there awaiting his arrival, my mom, grandma, grandpa (waiting in the car) great grandma, my cousins, and a few aunts.  I never thought I could love another person so much. I immediately wanted to shun him from the world and I didn’t even understand why. Though I was only 18 when I gave birth a 8lb 0 ounce baby boy, Kristopher Marcus Hamilton, 6/25/1995, I instantly knew I wanted to do my best to ensure that he’d never feel the pain I felt as a black woman. I hadn’t (at that time) really understood the struggles of a black man. I mean in my eyes men were men no matter what the color because all I knew when the guys and girls, I hung out with and went to school with. And all of us were minorities. However my son taught me something I will never ever forget. Something my Grandma and my Grandma had been sharing with us about their childhoods and dealing with “the white man”.

Wow… How can I say it and it make sense to you all? Give me the strength, God. Well because my son wasn’t talking and communicating the same as the other children in our family people thought “something’s wrong”. They kept trying to get me to take him to doctor and have him “checked out”. And I am going to tell yall why. My son as a baby didn’t trust lots of people I took him around including family. Strange I know. I mean as long as I my grandmother, my mother, and my father, were in his sight he was fine. No matter who was around. But the moment one of us stepped out he would cut up. I remember his first pediatrician telling me. I know people may look and you and judge you and say his is spoiled. But believe me it’s not that. He sees and senses and she said he is trying to show you (talking about me), she was Indian, she started asking questions about his behavior that were right on point. She said to me only a few people can handle children such as your child then she said. Don’t be ashamed be thankful. I never was ashamed it was just people would get mad at me because they would want to keep him and take him out with them and he just wasn’t having it. So of course after telling me this the insurance that was covering my son at that time “dropped” that doctor and I had to switch him to another doctor. See what they do for those who will not conform?

I was wearing this same dress that day I went to the church... Read on you'll see

Well to make a long story short this doctor wanted to conduct all this test “researching” minority children with delayed “sensory” and communication issues at that time they called it (Autism). However during the first test which was just a “Mom step out of the room and let’s see how he reacts to us”, test. A group of white people, some white kids and some black kids all the same age as my son. Let me tell yall when Kris looked up and saw his mom was gone. He went to cutting up. Then he went over by the black kids until I came back inside. I was in another room watching, you know how they watch a criminal being interrogated behind that “they can’t see you” glass. I went inside grabbed him up the white lady said “Mom” knows what to do. And then she said “Mom, he is only acting like this because he doesn’t trust us?” That stuck with me. They never offer medication though the lady wanted to but instead said “mom has a good grip” so I guess that meant she won’t medicate him if we tried.

Now Imma really make yall think. Does anybody remember the Lipton Brisk tea commercials? There was this one in particular the commercial was black and white (animated) and the only color were in the eyes of the characters. Frank Sinatra (ole blue eyes) was in lots of them. Check it when those commercials would come on my son would flip out running and hiding and crying looking for me to save him until the commercial went off. Black innocent male baby don’t know nothing about color however has been diagnose with the “he doesn’t trust us disease”. And he running from a (animated) Lipton commercial in black in white only showing the color of the EYES of the characters. Now think about that for a minute.

I remember taking him to a church my aunt attended in Cocoa, Fl. He was a little over two. It was a white church something like a cult I swear to God. Check it the minister, pastor, cult leader whatever he called himself wanted to hold my son. I was like uh oh… I said “noooo he’s sleepy he might not want to be bothered“… You know you can’t tell them nothing because they know everything so he says “oh it will be fine“. Man dude tried to touch Kris, he went to acting like he was ready to go to war kicking and screaming and hollering. My aunt, I know for sure was embarrassed. I just grabbed him up took him outside he cried for a minute and then looked up at me like… “You know better, Mom“. He wouldn’t say it words but them eyes told a story as if he’d been here before. Now, well as you can see if you read his blogs… He definitely has a lot to say and he has certainly helped me understand the mind of a black man. The mind of god!

For example, “THE WHITE MAN IS THE DEVIL.” We have to remember the climate of the country during this time. It was an all out war and the Nation was not about to back-down. The Nation of Islam, which was started by Elijah Muhammad and a white man named, Master Fard Muhammad, always pointed out that one day we would all live in harmony. Although this still isn’t quite true, their message under the leadership of Minister Louis Farrakhan has evolved to fit the time.

It is true that some blacks are still not “free” and stuck in a slave mentality, due to the lingering affects of 400+ years of slavery. It is the recognition of this condition that the Nation continues its important work in ghettos across America, giving steady doses of spirituality or sense of higher self to many men and women who need it.” – Uncle Rush

Hi. I appreciate the thought but assist each other how exactly?
Cristina Arra Simmons : January 18 at 7:28am
U are the Editor right? 😉
Cristina Arra Simmons: January 18 at 9:51am
You know what don’t worry about what I said. I tend to jump the gun before I actually get to know people so just forget about the offer. Be blessed.
Cheryl M. Williams :January 20 at 1:21am

I’m sorry, I’m confused lol? “Editor” is my online nickname like Arra Da Flygurl is yours. I chose that nickname b/c it’s what I aspire to be way before I learned of RTM. I was introduced to RTM nearly a year ago thru a mutual contact & eventually asked to take on the responsiblity of Editor. I’ve been contributing to this project in that capacity ever since as best as I can & feel blessed to have an early opportunity to do what I love while still in college. I hope this fully answers your question.

Now, it seems to me you’re right — you tend to jump the gun before you get to know people. Therefore, getting the wrong ideas! I was simply asking you to elaborate on HOW we would assist one another with edits. I don’t like to assume but again, I appreciate the offer. By the way, I’m a nice person and I have no issue with you… but I do suggest you chill out and heal that bruised ego of yours and stop thinking everyone is out to hurt you. I’m out.

(Yall read that shit)!!!

“By the way, I’m a nice person and I have no issue with you… but I do suggest you chill out and heal that bruised ego of yours and stop thinking everyone is out to hurt you. I’m out.”
Chick first off my ego is not bruised by no means if anything I am happy people choose to show how ignorant and controlled they can be. I simply was trying to break the ice. But check it you don’t have to worry about that ever again please believe that. By saying my ego is bruised you are making a outrageous assumption so you do that. Be out. Peace.

Do over… By Cheryl Williams

Cheryl M. Williams: January 23 at 3:39am
Sooooo…. hey there. Look, there’s no use in pretending we didn’t get off on the wrong foot but still, I’d like it if we squash this shit and move forward. I admit to having a tendency to be too direct and if I was I apologize. Either way though we have to be a team and work together so truce?

Cheryl WilliamsIf only one could find a Mother’s Day card as deep & meaningful lol. Very nice!

ArgylecultureRussell Simmons: I have been told by many of my twitter followers that the reason they follow me is because I am a spiritual voice of reason. Every day I remind my “followers” to turn the other cheek, meditate to bring themselves closer to god and to try not waste their energy sweating the small stuff. I know that if they follow my advice and are able to find that stillness, the one that I have been fortunate enough to get a glimpse of, it will eventually lead them to happiness, or a state of yoga that is their birthright. I certainly can’t say I’ve mastered it, but I have faith that it is possible in this lifetime. I am, as you are, a work in progress. But if you ask anyone who has known me before I started practicing these principals, they will say that the person who was nicknamed “Rush,” because I couldn’t sit still, is now someone who doesn’t “Rush as Much.”
